Time Warp- It's Saturday?

There is nothing more crappy than when you plan an entire weekend's worth of projects and a cold front blows through.  No, there is not a blizzard outside, but it is wet and windy and not ideal for painting a wall.  Well crap, there is always Thanksgiving weekend.

I have however managed to start the dresser revamp.  For one reason or another, I thought it was a great idea to paint my IKEA Hemnes dresser a bright, high-gloss orange with dark glaze.  I think I liked it about a year before I decided to lighten up the bedroom colors.  Here is where I am right now, a half painted dresser, stained drawer fronts & brass pulls.

IKEA Hemnes Re-Vamp In Progress

Supplies
Slowly but surely I am sure it will come along and look pretty awesome when it is all said and done.  It is just a slow process because of the weather.

In other news, Andy and I are going to an open house today and tomorrow we are going to check out another house.  So while the one wall in my bedroom might not get painted, we are going to check out some potential new places to live.  I am hoping we can have our house on my market by the second week of December, we will just have to see how much crap I get done with the end of the school semester arriving.   Hopefully the Fridays I have off will help out a great bit, but we shall see.

I Like Love That

David+Chipperfield+Architects Gold brass stair rails
Brass Stair Rail, David Chipperfield Architects
1.Woo, IKEA, I love your new lighting.  The Ranarp Lamp Collection is freaking amazing, Ljusas Ysby in Green is prettier and greener in person, and the Arod Collection is gray at it's finest.
2. What is it with me and brass bathroom fixture lately?  I love gold faucets for vessel sinks, as part of a shower system.  I especially love the gold with the black and white in bathrooms.
3. I love the sputnik ornaments at CB2. The acrylic snowflake ornaments are also cute and for-fill my love of lucite right now.

I Like Love That

Dark Pink Curtain, thedecorista.com

1. I am loving pink curtains right now. IKEA has the Aina panels which are totally affordable for a light pink. Land of Nod has cute color blocked curtains for a more tailored look.  And then there are these ruffled pink curtains at Target if you are looking to make a statement.
2. I freaking love these Numi candle holders from CB2.  A mass collection of the on a mantel or a table would look great year round, it's just the aspect of glass weighing me down.
3. I love/ hate craigslist.org.  Look at this freaking headboard I found in Tampa, Florida- it's to freaking die for and so far away.

Room for Color Contest
1. Don't forget to vote for me in the Apartment Therapy Room for Color Contest.  I probably won't win, but I would still love your vote.
2. I love the spot light on dark rain forest greens lately.  I am thinking my little hallway nook might need to become colored so.
3. I must have been living under a rock because this faux marble contact paper is freaking awesome.  I also loving the the gold mylar.  Oh the possibilities of gold contact paper.

Week Beginnings and Weekend Plans

Ah Mondays.  It provides the 4:15am kick in the face that proves the weekend is officially over.  Weekends, is it me, or do the continually seem shorter and shorter with each week that passes by?  This weekend I didn’t get as much in the yard accomplished as I would have liked to, but I accomplished a little bit.  I finally touched up the ceiling in my bathroom from when I painted it mint and I FINALLY picked out a color for my dining room/ hallway.  After some house cleaning and some errands, the weekend ended with the season finale of Game of Thrones.  So, it was just like that, my weekend was gone.

I did go pretend shopping on zincdoor.com this weekend.  Well, I guess pretend shopping these days in pinning.  So, I pinned some items I would like to see in my house but totally can not afford.  One of the items though, I am totally going to make it.  Here’s a little slither of the project I am going to tackle.

Also, yesterday was our 7 year anniversery.  We celebrated with Dulce de Leche cupcakes and they were delicious.  Yesterday I also gained my 100th Pinterest follower. Big moment for a Pinterest junkie like myself.  So as Tuesday winds down, I will probably spend the evening Pinning, browsing Houzz and Zillow and checking out the new collection at West Elm.  I mean it's not like we watch regular TV shows so it sounds like a great evening to me.

The Golden Days Target Edition

I went to Target yesterday for the first time in a while.  I'm trying to eliminate frivolous spending to make some big purchases later this year, this means no stopping off at Target after work.  And what did I spy at Target?  Why wonderful wonderful gold and brass things of course!

So let's count down some great Gold & Brass items you can get though Target.

1.  Threshold Iron Wire Table, $59.99  2. Threshold Brass Animals, $9.99 each  3. Threshold Small Birch Servers $l2.99 Iron Bowl, $19.99  5. Tempaper Marakkesh Honey Peel and Stick Wallpaper, $98.00 per roll  6. Nate Berkus Dipped Bowl, $19.99  7. Nate Berkus Pyramid Pillow, $24.99  8. Threshold Brass Lamp Bass, $54.99

Pretty great stuff available at Target to add a little gilded glitz to your humble abode.  Minus the Tempaper and Birch Server, everything can be found in stores which makes it even more awesome.  So unless you are avoiding Target like the plague, you should go check out all the gold in the Spring collections before they're gone.
